U.N. approves Haiti peace-keeping force: U.S. to cede control by March 31
Article Abstract:
The United Nations Security Council approved the disbursement of 6,000 peacekeepers to Haiti, who will replace US forces on Mar 31, 1995. The UN troops will help restore democracy to Haiti by improving the police and military, and managing elections. They will leave Haiti by Feb 1996.
