Union Pacific drops Santa Fe bid

Santa Fe Pacific Corp stockholders approved a plan on Feb 7, 1995, that would allow the firm to merge with Burlington Northern Inc in a $4 billion deal. The move came after Union Pacific Corp dropped its hostile takeover bid of Santa Fe on Jan 31, 1995.

National Gypsum rejects BPB bid

National Gypsum Co announced on Mar 3, 1995, that it was rejecting a $48.50-per-share takeover bid by BPB Industries PLC. The deal was worth $1.12 billion. National Gypsum had previously rejected a $46-per-share bid by Delcor Inc.
