A Decision Process Over Variables and Their Numbers: Two Phase Optimality Conditions
Article Abstract:
An unconstrained optimization problem is analyzed. Decision process examples are provided and a two-phase method of solution is developed. Simple conditions for Phase Two operation through a finite search process are featured. Kuhn-Tucker type two-phase optimality conditions are found, and specifications for the dominant single variable function are given. Motivation, main results and examples of the research are investigated. This deterministic method can be used in a stochastic statistical case, if the variance of the regression function is small enough. Several theorems, lemmas and proofs are included.

An algorithm based on a new sufficient condition of optimality in dynamic lot size model
Article Abstract:
A model is formulated for solving dynamic lot size problems in the production scheduling of a single product. The environment assumes predictable demnad over time and fixed and deterministic variable costs in backlog and no backlog cases. A simple linear programming model is developed, along with an algorithm which evaluates conditions of optimality. The algorithm yields better computational efficiency compared with other well-known methods.

Group preference aggregation in the multiplicative AHP: the model of the group decision process and Pareto optimality
Article Abstract:
The representation used to model the group decision process can be the factor behind the geometric mean aggregation's violation of the desirable social choice axiom of Pareto optimality, thus placing doubt on the legitimacy of the Pareto optimality axiom. A geometric mean group aggregation procedure that satisfies all the social choice axioms suggested for the applicability of such a procedure is proposed.
