RAVE TECH POSITIONS ITSELF AS `BOUTIQUE' FOR SOFTWARE

Rave Technologies India Pvt Ltd, a merged company of Rave Computer (India) and TKG (UK) Ltd, has distinguished itself from other software development firms. It has called itself a boutique. It does not undertake Y2K or euro conversion projects. It looks for elements of design, individuality and quality. It does not take up mass production. The company recorded a turnover of Rs1.40 crore from Indian operations and Rs5 crore from its UK subsidiary. It is likely to set up development units at Pune or Bangalore. Majority of its projects have been for UK companies. Its clients include British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Union Bank of Switzerland and Enron Corporation. (um)

VEDIKA PLANS TO ENTRE EUROPE, US

Vedika Software, software company, proposes to foray into the US and European markets. It proposes to enter into these markets after covering a major part of the African, West Asian and the South-East Asian markets. Vedika Software does not have presence in these markets. It proposes to develop packaged software for meeting the demands of the international market. Currently, it sells Fact, an accounting software, in some of the South East Asian nations. The company will soon be launching a web-enabled version of Fact. (ag)
