A branch and bound algorithm for minimizing the number of crossing arcs in bipartite graphs
Article Abstract:
A branch and bound algorithm was constructed for minimizing the number of crossing arcs in bipartite graphs. The computational study was applied for a set of randomly generated problems of different sizes and densities. The algorithm was only able to explore a mean of 0.000000015% of the total number of nodes. Findings indicated that the algorithm is capable of solving small to medium sized instances to optimality in a reasonable time.

A tabu search algorithm for the bipartite drawing problem
Article Abstract:
A tabu search scheme is proposed to solve bipartite drawing problem. The scheme yielded two different algorithms, TS_BC and TS_SM, by implementing two positioning functions in the definition of the moves. Computational results reveal that the two algorithms generated better solutions than the four simple descent algorithms and the TT procedure.

Path colorings in bipartite graphs
Article Abstract:
The path colorings in bipartite multi-graphs are examined with the help of a problem related to simple transportation scheduling. A comparative analysis of the theorem of Konig on edge colorings and the theorem of Birkhoff and von Neumann that use bistochastic matrices is presented.
