A capital laid waste
Article Abstract:
The civil war in Sierra Leone continues, as rebels have been pushed out of the country's capital, Freetown. However, they are unlikely to be defeated in the short term. The government has the support of a West African force which is dominated by Nigerians. Civilians have been killed and children abducted by rebels. The new round of fighting has led to a view that negotiations will have to take place.
