Czech Republic: According to specialists, the number of mobile telephone owners should double by 2002 compared to 1.945 mil persons at the end of 1999. Acording to the tempo of the growth of the number of mobile telephone owners, the estimate is real in spite of the deep stagnation of the Czech economy. The share ofn the penetration of mobile telephones in the Czech Republic was 24% in April 2000, when Eurotel (Prague, Czech Republic) reported a total of 1.25 mil clients, Radiomobil (Prague, Czech Republic) about 1.15 mil clients of its network Paegas and the third operator Cesky Mobil (CM) (Prague, Czech Republic) 30,000 clients. CM entered the market in January 2000. The total proceeds in the field of telecommunications amounted to 82.098 bil Kc in the Czech Republic in 1999, 19.7% more compared to 1998. The dominant stationary line operator Cesky Telecom (Prague, Czech Republic) ensured 51.9 bil Kc of the proceeds in 1999, 13% more compared to 1998. Eurotel increased its proceeds by 43% to 20.9 bil Kc and Radiomobil by 81% to 11.7 bil Kc in 1999 compared to 1998. Radiomobil became the leading operator among the mobile telephone operators in 1999. The firm won more than 500,000 new clients during 1999.

Soare Sekt (SS) (Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic), sparkling wine and drink producer, has been increasing its results since its setting up in 1991. The firm produced 9.2 mil bottles of drinks and saw a turnover of CEK 317 mil in 1999. In 1995 it produced 500,000 bottles under proceeds of CEK 27 mil. SS has a 96% share on the Czech sparkling soft-drink market in 2000. The best known drink of the firm's sparkling soft drinks is the children's drink Robby Bubble. SS has a 50% share on the sparkling spirits market and a 20% share on the sparkling wine market. It entered the sparkling wine market in 1998. SS sells more than 75% of its production in the Czech Republic, exporting the rest worldwide. SS has a 52% majority stake held by the concern Sektellerei Schloss Wachenheim (Germany). SS has become the rival of the traditional sparkling wine producer Bohemia Sekt, Ceskomoravska vinarska (BSCV) (Czech Republic) on the Czech market due to its expansion. BSCV saw proceeds of CEK 1.5 bil in 1999.
