A heated controversy
Article Abstract:
There is a debate on global warming and how to interpret data on temperature at the troposphere collected by satellites. Links between the troposphere temperature and that of the Earth's surface are unclear. Changes recorded in 1998 are seen as linked to the El Nino effect, though it is also argued that El Nino is occurring more often due to global warming. Urbanization affects data collected on land, and records from different instruments may vary. It is also not easy to separate the impact of man-made emissions from natural factors.
