UK securities firms that charge fees in the form of soft commissions face growing regulation from the Securities and Investment Board (SIB). SIB rules promulgated in 1991 contain extensive disclosure requirements and limitations on services for which soft commissions can be charged.

Eastman Kodak is one of a few companies that now require top managers to invest a percentage of their salary in the company. The interests of shareholders and managers can be effectively aligned through shared ownership.
