AP POULTRY INDUSTRY EGGED ON TO TARGET EXPORT MARKET
Article Abstract:
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation, which undertook a study of the poultry sector in the state, has recommended the exploration of export markets, especially for egg and egg powder, in view of the competition from the rapidly expanding poultry bases in Karnataka and Maharashtra. It has also recommended the setting up of a Common Facilities Centre, preferably near Hyderabad. It is estimated that the value of the overall output from the state's poultry sector is Rs2500 crore per annum. It is estimated that the state's output of table eggs has increased from 94,000 lakh units in 1994 to 112,500 lakh units in 1997. (khr)

Major purchases by corporates has given a boost to the sluggish real estate market in Mumbai. Some of the recent major purchases were made by Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd which acquired 50,000 sq ft of office space in Lalbaug Industrial Estate for Rs15.74 crore, Indian Hotels which acquired 8,000 sq ft in Narang House for Rs12.9 crore and Datamatic Technologies which bought 40,000 sq ft in Andheri for Rs10.15 crore.
