CMC LAUNCHES FREE PGDCA COURSES FOR WEAKER SECTION
Article Abstract:
CMC Ltd, a leading software company in India, has introduced a free Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) course at its Hyderabad centre. The duration of the course is six months. PGDCA is being offered free of cost for students from the weaker section of society. It has provided admission to 30 students from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other weaker sections. These students were picked up from 3,000 applicants from an all-India advertisement. (gs) (khr)

BIGGER BYTE FOR FUJITSU-ICIM
Article Abstract:
The stock of Fujitsu-ICIM is expected to appreciate due to its subsidiary, International Computers Ltd (ICL) of Pune having attained the SEI CMM Level 5 certification. Fujitsu-ICIM owns about 75 percent of ICL's equity. The Fujitsu scrip is likely to benefit from the recent appreciation of software stocks. The company will also benefit from ICL's plans to set up two new offshore software development units in addition to the existing centres at Pune, SEEPZ and Noida. (khr)
