INDIA TO STOP DIESEL IMPORTS FROM JULY
Article Abstract:
The Oil Co-ordination Committee (OCC) of India has decided to discontinue the imports of high speed diesel (HSD) from July 1999. The move follows the increasing trend in refining capacities in the country. In the first half of 1998-99, India imported 5.38 million tonnes of diesel valued at Rs2,604 crore. The country has spent Rs10,700 crore in 1997-98 towards importing petroleum products (Rs13,554 crore in 1996-97).(gs) (khr)

C-Mac Centum Electronics Ltd (CMCE) has set up a 100 percent export oriented unit for production of frequency control products (FCP). The unit has been set up at a cost of Rs14 crore. CMCE also produces hybrid micro circuits and resistor networks. (ag)(vr)
