AUSTRIA/ITALY: VAI, TECHINT TEAM UP
Article Abstract:
Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI) of Linz and Techint of Milan are setting up a joint venture for continuous casting plants and rolling mills for long products. The joint venture of the Austrian and Italian plant engineering companies will employ 220 staff and generate an annual turnover of EUR 100mn. It will involve the two companies' sites in Linz, Austria; Castellanza, Italy; Sheffield, UK; and Pittsburgh, US. The cooperation should strengthen the two partners' engineering, construction and sales activities.
