AUSTRIA: MUSIKVEREIN INVESTING IN BUILDING

The Vienna music friends' association Wiener Musikverein is planning to build a concert hall for 450 listeners. The hall that will be three floors high will be built underground. Beside the concert hall, the project includes the construction of a lecture room and storage space. Altogether the Musikverein is to make investments of no less than Sch 260mn by 2004.

AUSTRIA: NEW CULTURAL CENTRE FOR VIENNA

In September 2001 the Buhne 21 theatre of Gerald Pichowetz is to move to new premises. The city of Vienna is contributing Sch 3.5mn towards the costs of converting the former Gloria cinema. The new centre will have two halls that can take audiences of 220 and 150, respectively.
