As the competition increases in the automobile sector, advertising agencies are also witnessing new alignments and re- alignments of vehicle accounts. The Tata Mint car account has gone to FCB Ulka while the Hundai account has gone to Sista Saatchi & Saatchi. Sources say that the accounts of the Tata's Safari, Sumo and Sierra, which are together worth Rs10-12 crore, will be switched from SSC&B Lintas to Ogilvy & Mather. The Tata's Estate account is also to be shifted from SSC&B Lintas to FCB Ulka. (khr)

The Indian shoe industry is becoming more quality conscious to meet the competition from foreign brands. The unorganised sector accounts for 80 percent of the shoe industry but domestic companies are competing keenly with each other and are using aggressive marketing and sophisticated technology. Regional brand like Relaxo, Liberty and Lakhani have not been affected in their sales volumes by the entry of international brands like Nike, Adidas and Reebok. (khr)
