Ad blitz to promote fund
Article Abstract:
The government of Hong Kong is launching a promotional campaign aimed at drumming up interest for it first listed index fund. The fund, established by the Exchange Fund Investment Ltd and managed by State Street Global Advisors, will be listed on Nov 12, 1999, following a two-week subscription period. The $1 billion to $2 billion fund, which will comparable to the biggest stock offerings at Hong Kong's stock exchange, came from the stock market intervention that the government undertook in 1998.
