Negotiator Richard Holbrooke, who helped establish the so-called Dayton peace agreement for Bosnia, has been asked by Pres Clinton to help save the agreement. No armed conflict has broken out, but there are disputes between Americans and Europeans, and two accused war criminals continue in power.

Article Abstract:
Some observers have criticized the upcoming Sep 1996 elections in Bosnia because they are likely to result in the elections of nationalist candidates. However, Bosnia would gain nothing from postponing the elections and they are a good first start towards democratic rule.
