Many Italians would support Antonio Di Pietro, a magistrate from Milan, Italy, if he were to decide to seek the post of prime minister. He has already brought considerable confusion to the Italian political scene by unexpectedly distancing himself from the ruling centre-left coalition government. He has gained support in many different geographical and political areas, and it is believed that he will no longer ally himself with a specific party.

Barbarians at the check-out
Article Abstract:
Germany is increasing its restrictive store hours to 8pm on weekdays and 4pm on Saturdays as of Nov 1, 1996. Most stores will probably not keep these extended hours, however, except for supermarkets and department stores.
