Tattletales and Woozles, two independent children's bookstores in Nova Scotia, have managed to flourish despite the entry of major bookstores, including Chapters, into the province. Both bookstores rely on their excellent book selection plus a keen appreciation of children when competing agains their bigger counterparts. None of the two has a huge advertising budget, but relies on short listings and occasional newspapers ads in making their presence known.

Music for nothing
Article Abstract:
Radiohead, a rock group, allowed its fans to decide on how much to pay for a digital copy of the band's album called 'In Rainbows'. A study by comScore, Inc. showed that 62% of those who downloaded the album chose not to pay, and 38% paid an average of US$6. The band was also criticized for the online release.
