Target practice
Article Abstract:
WorldCom has received approval for a merger with MCI, which involves merging with a larger company while retaining agility and energy. WorldCom has sought rapidly growing markets, and has achieved financial targets while keeping costs low. MCI has been hampered by regulatory problems and had invested in video-on-demand which proved to be a blind alley. MCI offers a strong brand, and WorldCom covers almost all market segments following the merger.
