Alexander Lebed, generally at sea
Article Abstract:
Alexander Lebed has been regional governor of Krasnoyarsk, Russia, for eight months, and has not been successful in tackling the economic problems of the region. His organizational skills have been shown to be lacking, and his support has ebbed away so that there is no certainty that he would be re-elected if an election were held. Policies do not appear to be thought out and are often abandoned. Lebed has a reputation for being brave, decent and incorruptible, but his lack of ideas on economic policy have not helped his career.
