Article Abstract:
The Montreux Jazz Festival, one of the world's most renowned musical events, will be held from July 4 to 19, 1997, at different venues in Geneva, Switzerland. The event, which was initiated by Claude Nobs, will provide entertainment to people of all ages and musical tastes. Performances by world-renowned jazz artists such as the Legends, Eric Clapton and B.B. King, as well as world-famous bands, are expected to attract 170,000 music lovers. There will also be a floating carnival aboard the Bahia Boat and free concerts along the Lake of Geneva and throughout the town.

Article Abstract:
Golf in Switzerland, which has been in the country since 1900, caters only to the upper class society. However, there is a remarkable growth in the number of players from 1975 to 1997. There is also an increase in the number of golf courses, driving ranges and indoor golf facilities located all over the country. Public golf courses offer much lower membership fees while private facilities collect as much as Sfr. 35,000 for an initial club membership fee.
