An approximation for computing the throughput of closed assembly-type queueing networks
Article Abstract:
A method for computing throughput given any work-in-process (WIP) level is proposed in a study involving the relationship between mean throughput and fixed WIP levels in Constant Work in Process (CONWIP) controlled, make-to-stock, assembly shops. The approach employs a Markov chain model and can be applied to WIP limiting controls other than CONWIP. To illustrate the results, four examples of CONWIP systems are presented.

Modeling and simulating Poisson processes having trends or nontrigonometric cyclic effects
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to develop a nonparametric method for estimating the (cumulative) mean-value function of a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. This approach allowed the modelling of asymmetric periodic behaviour without the need to store all of the observed data.

Expansion formulae for characteristics of cumulative cost in finite horizon production models
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the investigation of finite horizon production models to determine the tail probability and expected value of holding cost and cumulative shortage. General production functions are discussed.
