An architect of ideas: Ian Ritchie, never defined by a particular style, has been more popular in the rest of Europe than at home, until now
Article Abstract:
Ian Ritchie established his own architectural practice with the Eagle Rock house in Sussex, concentrating on London. However his projects at home have been few, possibly because of his refusal to adopt a perceptible style. The French have been among his more frequent clients, and he has been sought after as an adviser and critic for the RIBA, the National History Museum and the London Docklands Development Corporation. He is currently designed a Jubilee Line station and is responsible for the temporary Royal Opera House.
