Pres Clinton supports the proposed tenets of welfare reform introduced by Republican legislators even though it is experimental in nature and could cause more people to require government support. The measure includes workfare, issuance of block grants to states and a five-year lifetime limit.

In the name of the family
Article Abstract:
Democrats and Republicans espouse similar rhetoric on the decline of the American family that could lead to mislead policies. Both parties support trying juvenile criminals as adults. Families are less threatened than by what current political rhetoric assumes.

Pres Clinton visited Chicago public schools 2 days after in 2nd inauguration to demonstrate his support for improving public schools. Chicago schools are in significant trouble with a drop-out rate of 44% even after years of reforms.
