Two disparate groups oppose Russian Pres Boris Yeltsin's privatization plan. The Party of Economic Freedom's entrepreneurs say the 51% of shares offered is not enough, and the Civic Union, made of factory managers and union leaders, believe managers should own the companies.

Russia under the hammer
Article Abstract:
The Russian government plans to privatize more than 6,000 state-owned companies within a year. The success of such a mass privatization will depend on the creation of markets, which will requires supply, demand and agreement on prices.
