British architect Cedric Prices anticipatory architectural work is reviewed, including: an arched link at Thurrock Lakeside shopping centre in England; a road crossing at St Giles Circus in England; an observation deckway at Covent Garden in London, England and an arcade at Shaftesbury Avenue in London, England. His work on a demountable market stall is also described.

Botanical beauty
Article Abstract:
The name of David Douglas, the Scottish plant collector, is commemorated in the David Douglas Pavilion, a small but enchanting new building constructed almost entirely of Douglas fir in Scottish Plant Collectors Garden at Pitlochry. The peeled Douglas fir posts and the pitched roof of larch shingles blend perfectly with their surroundings, as does the interior.

Issues concerning the architectural characteristics of a house design by Richard Murphy Architects in Milldale, Aberdeen, are discussed. Particular attention is given to the ways in which the architects combined masonry and lightweight steel construction.
