Arcelor raises bid to $4.2 billion for Canadian steelmaker Dofasco

Arcelor S.A. of France announced a rival bid to ThyssenKrupp AG of Germany for Dofasco Inc. of Canada. The French steelmaker has offered $63 Canadian Dollars per share or $4.2 billion United States Dollars trumping ThyssenKrupp AG's offer of $61.50 Canadian Dollars. Analysts forecast further consolidation in internationl steel.
