As the fog cleared we found a deal
Article Abstract:
Financial Options Group, an independent financial adviser group based in Salford, England, has been involved in a number of significant deals. It completed the purchase of Kestrel Financial Management in Jan 1999, having been involved in negotiations throughout 1998 and made use of facilities arranged by NatWest Acquisition Finance. With this deal, Financial Options Group has become the third-largest network for independent financial advisers in the UK in terms of annual turnover, member companies and numbers of registered advisers. It believes that it will now be able to become even more competitive.

Goldman hire to lead UK M&A push
Article Abstract:
The selection of experienced and well-connected deal advisor Karen Cook by investment bank Goldman Sachs heralds the start of a finely planned and long overdue expansion into the UK mergers and acquisitions market. Cook will bring with her 11 years of experience from former employer Schroders, who claim she will not be replaced. Goldman Sachs performs well in other countries but feels it could do a lot better in the UK market.
