Austria: 850 redundancies at AUA
Article Abstract:
The Austrian Airlines Group is to make 850 employees redundant, including 500 at Austrian Airlines and 350 at Lauda Air. Director Vagn Sorenson is expected to reveal whether there will also be redundancies at Tyrolean Airways in a presentation to the board on 12 November 2001. Sorenson will also clarify in which parts of the companies the jobs will be lost. It is feared that there will be further redundancies, as in a letter to the employees Sorenson warned that 850 job cuts may not be enough.
