Mr Nihchal Israni the promoter of Blue Cross Laboratories (BCL) of Mumbai is planning to divest majority stake in the company. Mr Nihchal Israni's group which holds entire equity of the firm is exploring possibilities to sell the company for Rs200 crore. BCL's two leading brands are Meftalspas and Tus-Q. Meftalspas, a painkiller drug has sales of Rs15 crore, while Tus-Q, a cough syrup has sales of about Rs12 crore. (gs)(m)

BLUE DART AVIATION STAYS ON COURSE

Blue Dart Aviation (BDA), an express cargo aviation operator, has two Boeing 737 aircraft. It has invested Rs60 crore for its operations and engineering infrastructure in Chennai. International companies like United Parcel Services and Federal Express operate their own aircraft. BDA has been successful in getting high value load. It plans to add one more aircraft to its fleet. The domestic aviation industry is likely to show a negative growth in 1998-99. Sources say that passenger traffic is expected to post a negative growth of 5 percent in 1998-99 against projections of an 8 percent growth. Most of the airlines have seen a decrease of 10-15 percent in seat factor. They witnessed a seat factor of about 60 percent in May-June 1998. (khr)
