BPL's TELECOM GROUP DIALS SLRP FOR GROWTH
Article Abstract:
The Telecom Business Group (TBG) of BPL has adopted a strategic long range plan (SLRP) for consolidation and growth. It plans to concentrate on institutionalising, formalising and planning with emphasis on participation and ownership at key levels of the organisation. BPL TBG as also decided to adopt a silo and matrix operational structure under which functional heads of BPL's telecom companies will report to the heads of their individual companies as well as to the respective silo heads on the executive management board. GES TO REPLACE CHANRAIS' STAKE
Article Abstract:
Global Electronics Services Ltd (GES) has decided to replace the Chanrais, its strategic non-resident investors based in Singapore, with large overseas telecommunications majors like MCI, British Telecom and Stet. Rabo India Finance has been appointed by GES to find a buyer for the 48 percent stake held by the Chanrais along with a one percent equity that will be divested by the promoters of GES. GES, which has an equity capital of $53 million, is currently engaged in fax services and data services. (khr)
