Bankers Trust ex-chief quits Deutsche Bank

Frank N. Newman, the former chief of Bankers Trust New York Corp., announced his resignation from Deutsche Bank AG. Mr. Newman could receive a severance package worth up to $100 million (96.6 million euros), according to previous estimates. Mr. Newman served as Bankers Trust's chairman and chief executive before it was purchased by Deutsche Bank in June 1999. Details of the deal's financial term were not revealed.

BBVA creates new executive team

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (BBVA) has formed a new executive team to come up with a corporate strategy. The bank said that Jose Ignacio Goirigolzarri, as the new chief executive, and Francisco Gonzalez, as the last remaining chairman, will management the day-to-day operations. Emilio Ybarra and Pedro Luis Uriarte, both co-chairmans, will be retiring from their posts.
