Bell debuts off-the-wall ads

Bell Canada unveiled its English-language print and TV ads in Ontario and Quebec, both in Canada. The campaign, executed through Cossette Communications-Marketing, highlights Bell Canada's various services from long distance to Sympatico Internet access. The humorous ads are geared towards encouraging customers to recognize a Bell message. It also marks the first major strategic branding made by Cossette since it started working with Bell in summer 1998.

Electronic mail is expected to play a critical role in direct marketing with the convergence of consumer and businesss population on the Internet. The emerging trend was the result of combination of improved segmentation and a permission-based model in electronic marketing. E-mail allows the one-to-one marketing aimed at individual categories to shift to individual customer, thus, creating value because of the personalization of services.

E-bill stuffers catching on

A recent survey conducted by Angus Reid Group of Vancouver indicated that Canadian businesses and consumers are ready and willing to use electronic bill presentment and payment systems. The survey also indicated that 64% of consumers said they are willing to receive additional information, promotions, special offers or discounts specially tailored to them together with their electronic statements.
