GPA Group's May 13, 1993 sale of 45 jets to General Electric Capital for $1.35 billion in cash and future stock considerations has allowed the aircraft leasing firm to forestall bankruptcy. GPA's Tony Ryan claims that further financing from lenders will soon be secured.
