PPR to get control of Gucci on Dutch court ruling
Article Abstract:
A court ruling in the Netherlands has cleared the way for French tycoon Francois Pinault to acquire controlling interest in Gucci NV. Mr. Pinault was engaged in a fierce battle with French billionaire Bernard Arnault for Gucci. Pinault Printemps Redoute's (PPR) proposed acquisition of 42% of Gucci was upheld by a Amsterdam court. The court also rejected Gucci's attempt to implement a poison-pill defense against a takeover by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
