The petroleum industry is experiencing increasing international demand as prices reach $60 per barrel amidst growing concerns prices could rise further. Rising oil prices are being driven by demand from China and the United States markets. International demand is forecast to increase to 84.3 million barrels a day this year, an increase of 40 percent.

Ouch! Jet-fuel prices outpace crude
Article Abstract:
Jet fuel prices in the United States are increasing with the increasing price of crude oil, translating into higher costs for airlines. Crude oil rose an average of 39.7 percent per barrel to $51 while jet fuel rose 49.1 percent to more than $62, from 2004.
