Branding Bowes
Article Abstract:
Ontario, Canada-based Bowes Publishing, a division of Sun Media Corp. of Toronto, Canada, has almost no profile among big advertisers despite having 61 community weeklies across five provinces. One reason for the situation has something to do with the culture of Bowes, whose founder Jim Bowes successfully guided teh company to growth behind his decentralized, family-atmosphere management style. Today, Bowes President Bill Dempsey is concentrating on purchasing more papers and building brand recognition.
