GLAXO RETRACTS RANITIDINE CASE
Article Abstract:
Glaxo (India) has taken back the writ petition filed at the Mumbai High Court challenging the reduction in prices of anti- ulcerate ranitidine. Sources say that the company is planning to petition the ministry of chemicals as it was not satisfied of the dilatory court process. The price of the bulk drug was reduced to Rs1203 per kg from Rs1714 per kg. The company's Zinetac formulation of ranitidine has sales of Rs70 crore and accounts for almost 10 percent of the company's total sales. (khr)

It is a family managed company and this is the first time it has sought professional help from management consultants. Ferguson has recommended setting up of three strategic business units.
