CINVen becomes a Wight knight

Wightlink is the operator of the ferry for the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. The executive chairman is Mike Aiken after a buy-in involving CINVen and the Royal Bank of Scotland. The 107.5 million pounds sterling buy-in follows previous bids. Wightlink holds a stake of between 66% and 88% of the market and thios has been declared as not against the public interest by the UK Office of Fair Trading after an investigation in 1991. Aiken is keen to improve marketing and aims to offer short breaks and other promotions.
