CKD Nove Energo wants to be new
Article Abstract:
CKD Nove Energo (CKDNE) (Prague, Czech Republic), compressor and rotary machine manufacturer, wants to revive the good name of the trade mark CKD. CKDNE, which is not connected with the original holding company CKD Praha Holding (Prague, Czech Republic), wants to set up a firm without debts on new foundations. CKDNE started production in May 2000 and its new owner bought machines and equipment from the bankrupt firm CKD Praha Energo (Czech Republic) at the end of Aug 2000. CKDNE saw proceeds of CEK 350 mil in 2000. CEK 150 mil of the sum was represented by compressor production, CEK 70 mil by proceeds for electrical machines, CEK 40 mil by proceeds for special machines and the remaining CEK 90 mil by servicing and spare parts. CKDNE has 243 employees in 2001. A total of 140 persons of the number are workers, 48 are designers and the rest are service employees.

HWA raises profit

Hayes Wheels Autokola (HWA) (Ostrava, Czech Republic), steel disk wheel manufacturer, expects proceeds of 1.3 bil Kc in 2000. The firm should export 65% of its production in 2000 compared to 56% in 1999. It saw proceeds of 1.072 bil Kc in 1999 compared to 1.139 bil Kc in 1998. Its net profit amounted to 100 mil Kc in 1999 compared to 65.137 mil Kc in 1998. The 1999 results were influenced by the situation on the market, when some manufacturers started to equip their cars with aluminium wheels. HWA has a stock of 1.206 bil Kc and 450 employees.

Preparation for further capital entrance
Article Abstract:
Hayes Lemmerz Autokola (HLA) (Ostrava, Czech Republic), car-wheel manufacturer, is preparing the production of high-lift truck wheels for June 2000. The new production should ensure 85 jobs and will increase HLA's turnover by 300 mil Kc per year. The multinational concern Hayes Lemmerz, which associates HLA, ensures the production of high-lift trucks in Germany at the moment. HLA should increase its car wheel production capacity to 6 mil pieces per year in 2000 compared to the current 4 mil pieces per year.
