ECB TARGET FOR PSUS SET AT Rs5,446 CR
Article Abstract:
The Government has set targets for public sector undertakings (PSUs) to raise Rs5,446 through external commercial borrowings during 1999- 2000 (Rs5,482.02 crore during 1998-99). During 1998-99, the Government could raise only 80 percent of the target, amounting to Rs4,370.98 crore. Coal India Ltd has been set Rs1,455.6 crore target, Shipping Corporation of India Rs1,128.86 crore, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd Rs892.7 crore and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Rs897.13 crore. SIMPLIFIED RBI FORMS FOR FOREX REMITTANCES
Article Abstract:
The Reserve Bank of India has come out with simplified forms for filing foreign exchange remittances. These include remittances for maintenance of close relatives abroad, release of exchange for medical treatment abroad, and also remittances for gifts to close relatives or friends. RBI has made eleven amendments to the Exchange Control Manual (ECM). (um)(vr)
