CSA's privatisation has not been decided

Article Abstract:

Ceske aerolinie (CSA) (Czech Republic), Czech Airlines, saw a turnover of nearly 11 bil Kc in 1997. The firm generated a net profit of 89.3 mil Kc in 1997 compared to a loss of 207 mil Kc in 1996. The company will use the profit for the covering of old losses. CSA transported more than 1.7 mil passengers in 1997 compared to 1.6 mil passengers in 1996. The firm has a 60% majority stake held by the National Property Fund of the Czech Republic, a 30% stake by Konsolidacni banka (Czech Republic) and a 4% stake by Ceska pojistovna (Czech Republic). CSA's privatisation has not been decided yet. The contingent acquisition of a stake in CSA has to be decided by the government.

Trimco (Straz pod Ralskem, Czech Republic), car seat cover manufacturer, has been in the process of its dynamic growth since 1995. The firm expects proceeds of 3 bil Kc per year from 1999. The company's proceeds should amount to more than 1 bil Kc in 1998 compared to 250 mil Kc in 1995. Trimco, which has about 600 employees, is a part of the concern Johnson Controls (JC) (US). Trimco supplies car seat covers to its affiliated firms on the basis of long-term contracts within the concern. Trimco supplies car seat covers for some types of Opel, Ford, Volkswagen, Volvo and Skoda cars, among others.

Ferram (Opava, Czech Republic), supplier of mining machinery, saw a profit of more than 35 mil Kc in 1997. The firm's profit totalled 700,000 Kc in 1991. The company's proceeds amounted to 370 mil Kc in 1997 compared to 36 mil Kc in 1991. The firm also runs a metallurgy material wholesale warehouse. Its products are sold inland and abroad. The company has supplied a mould cutting machine to Model (Switzerland).
