Chevalier sees mixed results
Article Abstract:
Chevalier International Holdings under the Chevalier Group posted an 18.9% drop in net profit to HK$195 mn for the year ended 31 March 1998. Sales increased to HK$7.4 bn from HK$5.5 bn. Its 38% owned Chevalier Development International Ltd posted a net profit of HK$154 mn for the same year, up 41.5% from the previous year. Sales increased to HK$3.4 bn. However, their sister company Chevalier Construction Holdings Ltd posted a net loss of HK$12 mn, compared with a profit of HK$23.8 mn in the previous year. Sales increased from HK$2.4 bn last year to HK$3 bn. *

Everbright sure of profit growth

In addition to manufacturing business, China Everbright Technology plans to expand its retail network of consumer electronic and telecoms products from a current 100 stores to 300 by the end of 1998. However, it does not expect a significant growth of income from distribution business.
