Article Abstract:
China has reportedly stationed almost 1 million troops in the western province of Xinjiang to help suppress Uighur separatists. The province has only been under Chinese rule since 1949, and Uighurs see their cause as anti-colonialism. They also are unhappy that ethnic Hans get the best jobs.
