Church militant
Article Abstract:
Religion has always been an important factor in Philippine politics. In the May 1992 presidential elections, Catholic Jaime Cardinal Sin is supporting candidate Ramon Mitra while the influential Iglesia ni Cristo gave Eduardo Cojuangco its full backing. Majority of the Filipinos believe that the Church should not meddle with the affairs of the State. The election results should be a good indicator of the electorate's mood.
