Article Abstract:

The duration and the start of each task may vary within real intervals and the resource consumption of each task is continuously varying over time. The first contribution is a general model for describing the resource consumption of a task and the second contribution is the computation of the compulsory part or core time of a task.

A concise survey of scheduling with time-dependent processing times

Article Abstract:

A framework to illustrate how models for class of machine scheduling problems in which the processing time of a task is dependent on its starting time in a schedule are generalized from the classical theory is presented. A few interesting areas for future research are suggested.
