ConocoPhillips Posts 65% jump in quarterly profit

ConocoPhillips of the United States posted a soaring profit increase by 65 percent to $5.2 billion for the second quarter. Revenue results were due to increased market share for petroleum refining, higher prices for oil and the recent acquisition of a natural gas company, Burlington Resources Inc. also of the United States.
