Consequences of Kosovo
Article Abstract:
There could be a solution to the conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia if enough incentives and sanctions are used by western countries. The conflict has also involved lessons on cooperation in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The threat of US air strikes can be powerful, but bombing alone cannot solve problems created by ethnic conflict. Cooperation between the US and Europe is needed to tackle the problems of Kosovo, and Europe has to be prepared to pay a higher proportion of the costs of NATO.
