Czech trade according to a Japanese model
Article Abstract:
Motokov Group (MG) (Prague, Czech Republic), trade engineering group, wants to become a trade company according to the model of the Japanese "trade house". MG expects a similar turnover in 1998 as the 11.4 bil Kc generated in 1997. MS has become a stabilised trade firm in spite of a turnover of 35 bil Kc per year at the end of the 1980's. The exports of engineering production represent 60% of MG's total turnover. The exports include mainly tractors, which represent about 40% of MG's total turnover together with farming machines. Besides the exports of tractors from Zetor (Brno, Czech Republic), MG has arranged contracts to represent Agrostroj Pelhrimov (Pelhrimov, Czech Republic), Humpolecke strojirny (Humpolec, Czech Republic) and Skoda Liaz (Czech Republic) on the global markets. MG has revived co-operation with Tatra (Koprivnice, Czech Republic). The firm also co-operates with CKD Holding (Prague, Czech Republic) in tramway car exports, Skoda Ostrov (Ostrov, Czech Republic) in trolleybus exports and CZ Strakonice (Strakonice, Czech Republic) in chain exports.
